Type I (juvenile) diabetes can occur at any age, but most commonly is diagnosed in children. Each year 30,000 Americans are diagnosed with the disease with over 13, 000 of whom are children. For these children, insulin is necessary for life. They must take several insulin injections a day for the rest of their lives. For the families, who have children with diabetes, it can be a major challenge dealing with this difficult, upsetting, and life threatening disease that doesn’t go away.

That is why Camp Kno-Koma was created.  It has provided young people with diabetes the opportunity to experience the adventures of summer camping for over 50 years. To offer and run a specialized diabetes camp and to make it medically safe, as well as fun for the campers is a financial challenge.  It costs almost $500 a week to provide this camping experience to a child. This is where you come in.  We need your financial support!  Any donation could make all the difference in the lives of these children with diabetes located in the Mountain State and within your community.

If you have any questions and/or want the opportunity to sponsor a child in your community, please do not hesitate to contact us.
