The Camp Kno-Koma staff, along with the JDRF volunteers of WV are teaming up to bring you a weekend of fun, education, and socialization just for T1D families. The event will be held at Camp Virgil Tate in Charleston, WV during the weekend of May 15th.

Registration will be from 6pm to 9pm on Friday, May 15th and the event will conclude at 11:00am on Sunday, May 17th. The event will include activities, panel discussions, and educational speakers, including topics on nutrition, the emotional aspects of living with type one diabetes and other T1D topics of interest. Separate Camp Kno-Koma type activities will be available at various times throughout the day for the children.

There are 3 different options for lodging:

  • Camp KnoKoma Bunkhouse: The sleeping arrangements are similar to those at Camp KnoKoma during the summer camp. It is intended for children ages 7 thru 15 and Camp Kno-Koma medical staff will be present.  There is no additional cost for this option.
  • Family Bunkhouse: Adults and children can sleep in a family style bunkhouse. The rooms may be private or you may be in a room with other adults, depending on the number of people signing up for this option. There is no additional cost for this option.
  • Private room in the main lodge.  The private rooms are in the main lodge and are $75.00 per night. Each room includes 2 full size beds, a private bathroom, linen services and complementary toiletries.
